9 I used PHP for years when I discovered the beauty of ruby (the language) and how elegantly rails used it. I learned the beauty of OOP, DRY and YAGNI. Programming is fun again.

10 I chose FreeBSD as my primary OS several years ago. At that time I was a "windows" user and had tried some linux distributions. None of those felt right to me. After a steep learning curve for unix-like OS in general and FreeBSD in particular I felt right at home. Now I'm an active part of the community and try to give back as much as I get (which is very much). I use FreeBSD as my only desktop OS and for servers also albeit there are some linux boxes too. All those experienced linux users looking for a new adventure should definetly give it a try.
